Seeds for Microgreens

Popular choices include:

• Leafy herbs & greens: fenugreek (methi), amaranth, spinach, basil, cilantro, dill

• Root & vegetable seeds: Beet, Radish, cabbage, kale, broccoli, lettuce

• Pulses & legumes: mung, horsegram, chickpeas, garden peas, black gram and other lentils

• Large seeds: sunflower, pea shoots

• Others: wheatgrass, buckwheat

Tips:

• Large seeds (sunflower, mung, chickpeas, peas,lentils) need 6–12 hr soak before planting

• Always use untreated, food-grade seeds

• Avoid toxic seeds: tomato, eggplant, potato

• Harvesting: cut microgreens just above the soil line when shoots are 2–4 inches tall

• Most microgreens can be harvested once/twice per crop; some fast-growing varieties like peas may allow a second quick harvest if regrown

• Seed availability varies with season
